Description of Position
Community Living Mississauga is a non-profit organization that assists people who have an intellectual disability to identify and achieve their goals. Community Living Mississauga is currently seeking an Accountant. This position will report to the Controller and provide assistance/back-up to the Accounting Team.
Description of Duties
Completes essential job duties thoroughly in a timely manner as per established target dates.
Remains current and informed regarding broader organizational information
Knowledgeable and pursues resources available in the community applicable to position
Demonstrates independent problem solving skills
Demonstrates effective use of technology
Performs other duties as assigned
Provides support to the Finance team as needed
Review documentation and ensure all amounts, payee and general information is accurate
Ensure all documentation is attached to requests
Ensure signatures and approval are obtained by the proper parties and in a timely manner
Completes data entry in a timely and accurate manner
Files all documentation in a timely manner
Identify barriers to prompt payment or processing of documentation reuired by position and works to proactively resolve barriers
Liaises with outside vendors, agencies or individuals to ensure payments, contracts, invoices etc. are up to date and accurate
Organizational skills including decision making, problem solving, negotiation, planning, ability to prioritize, etc.
Resolve conflict and build trust.
Assisting in financial record-keeping and reporting
Processing invoices and expense reports
Coordinating with other departments regarding financial matters
Performing other administrative tasks as assigned
Qualifications
A recognized certificate or Community College diploma in Finance, Accounting or related field.
A minimum of 1-3 years full time relevant work experience at an administrative level in a non-profit or charitable organization.
Demonstrated ability to apply time-management in a changing environment including effective conflict resolution
High computer proficiency in programs such as MS Office, Sage300, Excel, etc.
Excellent analytical, interpersonal and communication skills.
