Job Description
The General Help worker includes customer service, food service, and cleanliness. This includes, but not limited to: Dish Room, Pot Washers, Sandwich Makers, Line Servers, Deli and Pizza Makers, Bussing, Catering Services
Job Responsibilities
Preparing beverages or food items in any of our facilities. Using standard coffee and ready-mix machines Display, serve and complete orders in front of customers Communicate with customers by taking food & beverages orders and requests Maintains high quality food and cleanliness keeping waste to a minimum Performs specific cleaning duties and cleans as he/she goes Adheres to health and safety practices Practices safe and sanitary preparation and service techniques Stocking and setting up of station over the course of the day Assist Chef or peers with any duties that might arise to complete station mis en place Follow and adhere to all food services policies and procedures, including, but not limited to: FIFO and Day Dot practices Follow all HACCP Procedures Food temperature checks Quality checking (i.e. expiration dates) Adheres to Aramark safety policies and procedures, including proper food safety and sanitation Adhere to all government/University policies and legislation, including but not limited to: Food Safety and Sanitation Occupational Health and Safety Employment Standards Human Rights & Labor Law and Harassment Assist on different stations as necessary Daily sign off production sheets, temp logs, waste logs, cleaning sheets Other duties and tasks as assigned by Executive Chef/Manager/Supervisor At Aramark, developing new skills and doing what it takes to get the job done make a positive impact for our employees and for our customers. In order to meet our commitments, job duties may change or new ones may be assigned without formal notice.
Qualifications
Demonstrates an understanding of basic sanitation procedures Must be able to follow basic safety procedures due to exposure to hazardous chemicals Must be available to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends Minimum of 1 years of related experience in an institutional kitchen, but willing to train Knowledge of institutional kitchen equipment, but willing to train Excellent customer service skills Exceptional communication skills Ability to lift 10-50 lbs High attention to detail
This role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing. This role may also require uniforms and/or usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
