The role
As a Press Operator, you will be working in our Labels department, responsible for setting up and running a 3–8 colour rotary flexographic press (OMET, MarkAndy, Aquaflex, or Nilpeter) with UV and digital imaging capabilities. In this role, you’ll produce high-quality labels for our valued clients while maximizing efficiency and minimizing waste.
This is an onsite role working a Monday–Friday, two-week rotational schedule across Day Shift (7:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.), Afternoon Shift (3:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m.), and Night Shift (11:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m.).
Key responsibilities

Read and interpret production dockets to understand job requirements and set up the press according to order specifications

Mount flexographic plates on cylinders, install dies as needed, and load print cylinders on shafts and set assembly into modules

Select the appropriate anilox volume, fill ink trays or pumps, and monitor ink viscosity throughout

Set impression of plate to anilox roll and impression cylinder

Adjust die strike and impressions for construction across up to 4 die stations
-
Regulate roll tension during press runs to maintain accurate registration between print and die
-
Operate the press at optimal speeds based on job complexity and quality standards for roll-to-roll, roll-to-fanfold, or roll-to-sheeter production

Troubleshoot print, ink, and registration issues to maintain quality and efficiency

Other duties as assigned
Skills & experiences
-
Secondary School (Grade 12) diploma or equivalent, paired with hands-on experience operating flexographic printing presses (OMET, Mark Andy, and/or Nilpeter experience is mandatory)

Strong knowledge of flexographic products and press operations
-
Experience running shrink sleeves is an asset
-
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
-
Able to comprehend and use basic math
-
Ability to lift up to 60 lbs.

Compensation: $29.57 – $36.96 CAD per hour
The compensation range listed reflects the expected compensation for the role. Actual compensation will be determined based on individual skills and experience.
