The Role
BGC is seeking an HR Generalist for an 18-month full-time position to provide coverage during a leave. You will play a key role in supporting recruitment, immigration, and employee relations activities across the organization. This role will be providing support to employees and managers and contributing to BGC’s employee experience. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, people-focused, and thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. This role will be based in our Vancouver, B.C. office.
Responsibilities Recruitment
- Manage full-cycle recruitment across functional teams, including stakeholder management, job requirements gathering, job posting, sourcing, phone screening, reference checks, and offer preparation.
- Partner with hiring leads throughout the recruitment process to ensure a positive candidate and hiring manager experience.
- Collaborate to draft and finalize offer letters.
Immigration/Mobility
- Support employee mobility and immigration processes, including documentation for work permits and visas, in coordination with legal and external partners.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employee inquiries related to work permits and permanent residency.
- Liaise with Project Managers, the Staffing team, and employees to ensure timely submission and tracking of immigration documents.
- Proactively keep up to date on issues affecting mobility.
- Update employee support materials as needed.
Employee Relations
- Support leaders by providing coaching and guidance on employee relations concerns.
- Oversee employee status changes including resignations and prepare all related HR correspondence.
- Conduct exit interviews.
Data Analytics & Reporting
- Support the maintenance of our HRIS and HR tools for data integrity, quality, and security.
- Support the preparation of reports to provide leaders with insights for decision making.
- Support the documentation of our systems and related processes with regular updates, throughout the lifecycle of the system.
Required Education, Experience & Competencies
- Post-secondary education (diploma or degree); HR or business administration programs are preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of experience with HR coordination, recruitment, and employee relations functions.
- Knowledge of Canadian employment regulations including Employment Standards Act.
- Initiative, resourcefulness, strong business acumen and a curiosity to learn.
- Aptitude for people data analytics and reporting, from data entry and requirement gathering to building reports.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities; ability to prioritize and multi-task.
- Experience with ATS/HRIS platforms (BambooHR preferred).
- Knowledge of immigration fundamentals and mobility processes is considered an advantage.

Wage Range
The estimated base salary range for this position is $80,000 - $90,000 CAD per annum, however base pay will be commensurate with job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. BGC's compensation package also includes a training allowance and comprehensive medical and dental plan.
