We are seeking an experienced, highly organized, and proactive Events & Sponsorship Specialist to initiate, plan, execute, and evaluate business development initiatives that strengthen our brand and create opportunity for firm members to connect with clients, peers, and the communities we serve.
Role Overview
As the Events and Sponsorship Specialist based in the London office, you will lead the planning and execution of over 100 firm events and the coordination of the firm’s corporate sponsorship and community investment initiatives annually. You’ll collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners to deliver seamless experiences, from seminars and client appreciation events to tradeshows and community sponsorships. Whether planning, executing, or evaluating firm events or partnership initiatives, the Specialist will have both an eye for detail and keen sense of logistics while managing all stages of the project from initiation to closure.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and evaluate event and sponsorship opportunities that align with the firm’s overall strategy and the specific business development goals of each practice group.
- Collaborate with internal teams and lawyers to ensure all events are and sponsorships are delivered on brand, on budget and on time.
- Plan and deliver strategic events for practice groups and the firm—managing all stages from concept to post-event review—ensuring they align with business development priorities and deliver meaningful client engagement.
- Prepare detailed event plans and briefs and coordinate with lawyers to confirm participation and client engagement opportunities.
- Coordinate end-to-end logistics for events and sponsorships including continuous oversight of project timelines.
- Represent the firm at events as required.
- Develop and execute sponsorship initiatives, coordinating benefits, branding opportunities, and lawyer participation to maximize visibility and relationship-building.
- Act as primary point of contact for sponsorship initiatives and develop community partnerships by identifying branding opportunities, coordinating benefits, and encouraging lawyer participation to maximize visibility and relationship-building.
- Organize business development education programs, webinars, and seminars, including planning, promotion, execution, and post-event evaluation.
- Manage the firm’s donations program, aligning contributions with strategic objectives and ensuring appropriate recognition.
- Establish, track and analyze event and sponsorship metrics including ROI, strategic alignment, expenses, internal and external engagement, and lead generation.
- Regular reporting to assist with decision-making to guide future strategic business development decisions.
Qualifications
- 5–7 years of experience in event planning, marketing, or business development.
- Highly organized, with an ability to juggle multiple priorities.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Canva, MailChimp, Eventbrite, Microsoft Office, and CRM platforms.
- Experience with project management tools (e.g., Monday.com, Slack) preferred.
- Familiarity with design software (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) is an asset.
- Familiarity with webinar technology (Teams, Zoom) is an asset.
- Excellent communication skills and a client-focused mindset.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Post-secondary education in Event Management, Marketing, or a related field.
- Legal or professional services experience is an asset.
- Proven ability to measure and report on ROI for events and sponsorships.
- Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle (travel required between London, Toronto, Waterloo Region and Strathroy offices, as needed).
