About the role
Tomlinson is currently seeking an Asphalt Plant Operator/Batcher to work at our Asphalt plants in the Ottawa area.
RESPONSIBILITIES
-
Support daily asphalt production by assisting with routine activities.

Monitor asphalt plant performance to ensure safe, efficient, and continuous operations.

Safely receive and unload deliveries of liquid asphalt following established procedures.

Perform mechanical tasks, including inspecting, maintaining, and repairing bearings, belts, and related equipment.

Assist with ongoing plant maintenance to support reliability and reduce downtime.
-
Carry out additional duties at the asphalt plant as needed and directed by supervisors.
REQUIRMENTS
-
Some experience as a general labourer may be required.
-
Mechanical knowledge.
-
Specific asphalt training.
-
Welding experience is an asset.
-
Batching knowledge is required.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Working in an asphalt plant environment – dusty, staining from asphalt residue, loud, etc.
- Exposure to the elements.
- Regular work shifts are 10 - 12 hour days.
- Requires some extended shifts, night work and weekend work.
- Some physical work – lifting, bending, crouching, etc.
- Working at heights.
