Come and join us — where payments meet purpose! | What we are looking for The Core Payment Products team is focused on understanding our members’ high-value payment and settlement needs as well as the use and evolution of our existing platforms. We ensure that our products are practical, efficient, and responsive to their challenges and opportunities. Through our commitment to innovation, we strive to provide tools and standards that help financial institutions build sustainable and resilient payments for the future.

The Lynx product analyst supports the Lynx Product Manager through significant initiatives to identify and implement enhancements to the Lynx payments platform, and supports the strategic evolution of payments in Canada. Additionally, they are responsible for interfacing with member financial institutions and other key stakeholders to develop, maintain, and improve business processes (including rules and standards) and key insights for the operation of Lynx.

The Lynx Product Analyst will work to bridge the gap between the project and the business using data analytics to assess processes, determine requirements and deliver data-driven recommendations and reports to executives and stakeholders. Engage with business leaders to understand how data-driven changes to processes, products, services, software, and hardware can improve efficiencies and add value.

| A day in the life Your responsibilities as the Lynx Product Analyst will include but are not limited to:

Product and Business Support

  • Support the implementation of industry best product management practices, identifying improvements, and aligning with strategic priorities.
  • Provide analysis and support to Payment Products Management, ensuring alignment with member needs and regulatory requirements.
  • Help with backlog management, business case writing and drafting requirements and other key documents for product management and development within the Lynx product portfolio.

Project Execution and Operational Support

  • Support the execution of Lynx roadmap initiatives, collaborating across teams to ensure successful delivery.
  • Support the development of operational rules, standards, and procedures while ensuring quality assurance of deliverables and resolving project issues.
  • Complete research and jurisdictional scans to support product management decision making while informing of trends and market changes to management.

Stakeholder and Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with members, regulators, and stakeholders in the payments ecosystem.
  • Support management in Payments Canada’s working groups, and events, supporting the creation of decks and facilitating workshops as required.
  • Support the Lynx Product Manager on Identification of members’ needs, analyze trends, industry demands, and regulators' requirements and how they embed and transform the product roadmap and future needs to ensure our offering stays at the top of the list.
  • Able to understand industry-leading product management principles and support the practice implementation on the existing Lynx portfolio while enhancing the end-to-end understanding of the product and mapping customer journeys.
  • Maintain awareness of developments in the broader domestic and international payments ecosystem and the implications on existing Payments Canada products.
  • Understanding of product fundamentals including P&L and budgets and able to support the overall product strategy annual cycle.
  • A good understanding of SWIFT, wires and domestic large value payments and rules is considered an asset as well as previous direct experience on Lynx.
  • Conducting research and analysis and gathering user, member, and stakeholder requirements. This includes interpreting data and providing critical thinking to make sound and actionable recommendations.

| What you need to be successful

  • Post-secondary education in Business, Commerce, Information Technology, Engineering or a related field.
  • Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in business, economics, finance or technology.
  • Experience supporting product or project management initiatives.
  • Experience in building and sustaining day-to-day relationships and communications with internal and external partners and resources.
  • Experience preparing and delivering initiative updates to senior leadership;
  • Exceptional analytical and conceptual thinking skills.
  • The ability to influence stakeholders and work closely with them to determine acceptable solutions.
  • Eligibility to successfully complete background checks that will be carried out by Payments Canada, including criminal, credit, identity, employment, and education checks.

| You will really stand out with

  • Experience working in the payments or financial sector is considered an asset.
  • User Experience, Product Management or Business Analysis courses from a recognized institution considered an asset.
  • Bilingualism is considered as an asset.

| Salary range

  • Based on qualifications and experience: $78,031 to $97,539.
