About the role

RVT, Oncology, Contract Position

Location: Calgary, AB

Calgary Animal Referral and Emergency Centre is welcoming a full-time Veterinary Technologist, RVT, to join our team in the Oncology department. This is a 1 year contract position.

  • RVT’s with a minimum of 1 year of experience as a tech in a small animal or mixed animal practice.
  • Knowledge of physical examinations, patient assessment, catheter placement, anesthesia monitoring, radiology, venipuncture, and pharmacy.
  • Sedation/anesthetic monitoring, and patient recovery.
  • Ability to keep detailed and accurate patient records.
  • Compassionate care for our hospitalized patients and their families.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Ability to problem-solve or the ability to ask clarifying questions to help you find solutions.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills in working with your colleagues and pet parents.
  • Passion to learn more within the role.
  • A love for all companion animals!!

About Us: C.A.R.E. is a 24-hour emergency and referral specialty hospital, which operates out of a 26,000-square-foot facility in Calgary. The hospital is undergoing a complete update and expansion to facilitate the ever-growing caseload and expanding specialty services, including the design of a new, state-of-the-art ICU.

Our hospital offers a challenging; quick-paced, high-adrenaline work environment with a complex and varied caseload where teamwork and high-quality care are at the heart of what we do. Schedule: Monday – Thursday from 7:30 am - 6:00 pm
