Our Red Chris Mine, located in the heart of Northern British Columbia on the traditional territory of the Tahltan Nation. A short distance from Iskut and Dease Lake, Our fly-in, fly-out site offers access from various points across British Columbia and Alberta. Red Chris currently operates as an open-pit copper and gold mine with a promising future to transition to a high-value underground block cave operation. Your impact
Lead safe, efficient delivery of tailings dam construction scopes. You will translate plans into field execution, ensuring schedule milestones (Level 4) and cost targets are achieved while upholding the highest safety and environmental standards.
As part of our team you will
- Own field execution of heavy civil earthworks scopes in the tailings area
- Lead daily lineups and Pre-Start Meetings, aligning crews to targets and KPIs
- Ensure the right resources are in place to deliver safely and efficiently
- Optimize construction methods to unlock value and productivity gains
- Enforce traffic management plans to protect people and enable flow
- Conduct and validate risk assessments, critical controls, and documentation
- Monitor daily performance and provide actionable feedback to leadership
- Mentor and coach frontline teams to elevate capability and engagement
- Maintain a clean, compliant worksite aligned with FRM standards
- Support broader TSF operations as required
Prerequisites for your success in this role
- 10+ years’ experience in earthworks construction
- Proven experience in tailings dam construction
- Strong working knowledge of BC Mines Health, Safety and Reclamation Code
- BC Mines Supervisor Certificate (required)
- BC Mines Shiftboss Certificate (asset)
- Demonstrated ability to lead crews, manage risk, and deliver against schedule/cost targets

The expected salary range for this role is CA$105,800.00 to 141,100.00 per year . This range is tied to the British Columbia market for jobs performed in British Columbia. The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience. The salary offer will not be based on a candidate’s pay history at other jobs, and by law, Newmont will not seek information about pay history, and candidates should not share such information with Newmont.
