What is the opportunity:
Reporting to the Vice President - Business Services, the Accounting Co-op intern will be given the opportunity to develop skills in Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Cash Receipts, Month End procedures. This position will be provided training in each of these areas and then cover these positions during vacations, project back-up coverage, and or additional support.
What will you do:
- Accounts Payable
- Accounts Receivable
- Cash Receipts
- Month End
- Other duties as required
What you need to succeed:
- Currently enrolled in a post-secondary Accounting program
- Previous accounting work experience is preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook
- Experience working in database software.
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Exemplary interpersonal skills and exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Well organized and able to handle multiple tasks quickly and accurately
- High energy, flexible and has a willingness to take initiative
- Demonstrates creativity and ability to rely on experience and knowledge to make decisions confidently
