Position Summary
This position is primarily responsible for completing and / or assisting with customs compliance processes by providing administrative and technical support to the Trade Compliance Department
Key Responsibilities (Supervisory/Materials/Information)
- Preparation of CAD V type entries within the CARM Customs Client Portal. This may involve researching and recovering files, billing, contacting clients, etc.
- Prepares and controls monthly status request letter to CBSA for V type.
- Logging of V2 CAD adjustments into TM – printing of all supporting documents for claims
- Controls V2 adjustments & V type filing systems.
- Supporting senior co-workers with various functions – photocopying, pulling files, searching files.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Competencies, Working Skills & Attributes
- Excellent computer and data entry skills, including proficiency in MS Office programs (e.g. Word, Excel, etc.) and standard computer applications.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, to present information to a variety of contacts both internally and externally. Professional manner essential.
- Knowledge of customs and procedures.
- Self-motivated with excellent organizational skills and the ability to multi-task and prioritize.
- Good research, problem-solving, judgement and analytical skills with a high attention to detail to research and review information.
Working Conditions, Mental Effort & Physical Requirements
- Repetitive keyboarding, writing and / or mousing.
- Concentration is required in balancing several tasks at one time or dealing with interruptions.
- Sitting for prolonged time viewing computer screen and documents.
- Able to operate standard business machines including photocopiers, scanners, faxes, telephones, printers, etc.
- Must be comfortable working in a fast paced, high activity and deadline bound environment.
