Join Our Team as an Automation Engineer!
We are seeking a skilled hands-on Automation Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automated controls design, PLC/Script programming, and system optimization as well as familiarity with CAD design. This role involves working closely with robotic systems, ensuring their efficient integration and performance within our operations.

About Us: Designhawk Innovations is a custom automation systems integrator. We work with manufacturers in and around Chicago to automate processes at their factories through the use of robotics and fixed automation solutions. We pride ourselves in building reliable machines and have an excellent track record with many repeat customers.
Responsibilities
Collaborate closely with clients to understand their manufacturing processes, challenges, and automation objectives. Design, develop, and implement robotic automation solutions that optimize production efficiency, quality, and safety. Integrate various robotic systems, sensors, and control systems to create cohesive and high-performing automated systems. Perform thorough testing, troubleshooting, and validation of automation solutions to ensure operational requirements are met. Provide hands-on training and support to clients' personnel in operating and maintaining the implemented systems. Stay up-to-date with emerging robotics technologies and industry trends to continuously enhance our solutions.
Requirements
Experience in the following technical fields - Engineering, Computer Science, technical degree, or any related technical field experience. Understanding of robot programming (we primarily use Epson, Kawasaki, and Universal Robots). Must be proficient in PLC programming and controls systems design and implementation (We primarily use Omron, Maple, Beijer, and Automation Direct equipment). This is more than a programming role - system design experience is required. Electrical design experience (We use SkyCAD).
Helps To Have
Familiarity with CAD software. We use Solidworks but experience with other software is equally good.
Familiarity with machine tools (Mill, Lathe, CNC, hand tools)
