Communications Coordinator
About the role
Position Summary We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Communications Coordinator to manage clear, engaging, and consistent communications across the organization. This role will collaborate with cross-functional teams, support events, and ensure all messaging aligns with our brand standards while keeping our teams informed, connected, and inspired.
Responsibilities And Duties
- Partner with leaders and subject matter experts to gather, verify, and translate information into clear, engaging communications
- Draft, edit, and format documents, presentations, and visual materials to meet brand and style standards
- Manage communication intake requests, prioritize tasks, and ensure timely delivery
- Maintain a content calendar and create materials for newsletters, intranet, leadership updates, and event collateral
- Support event communications from planning and promotion through on-site coordination and post-event follow-up
- Monitor communication channels for feedback and track engagement metrics to assess effectiveness
- Recommend improvements to enhance reach, clarity, and impact of communications
- Develop creative templates, visuals, and tools to keep communications fresh and engaging
- Ensure consistency and adherence to branding and governance across all communication channels
Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 2–4 years of experience in communications, marketing, or event coordination
- Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills with strong attention to detail
- Experience in document formatting and maintaining brand and style standards
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and familiarity with document management systems.
- Experience with intranet or website content management systems (e.g., SharePoint, WordPress) is an asset.
- Basic video editing and visual content creation skills (e.g., Canva, Adobe Premiere, iMovie) are an advantage.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to coordinate logistics and support event planning. Experience with Smartsheet an asset.
- Proven ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion in handling sensitive information.
