About the role

About The Role Amrize is recruiting a Red Seal Heavy Duty Mechanic for a permanent position located in Exshaw AB. Heavy Duty Mechanics are responsible for large industrial mobile equipment used in all areas of the plant such as loaders, excavators and rock trucks. A high level of safety practices must be used at all times.

What You’ll Accomplish

  • Preventative maintenance service
  • General equipment and vehicle repairs
  • Maintain paper and electronic records
  • Diagnose and repair equipment and vehicle deficiencies
  • Maintain fleet and shop equipment
  • Production environment troubleshooting and repairs
  • Inventory management for shop supplies
  • Maintain shop environment and tools

What We’re Looking For Education Required: High School Diploma or equivalent.

Required Work Experience: Minimum 2 years of recent experience as a Heavy Duty Mechanic

Required Training/Certifications: A valid Red Seal Heavy Duty Mechanic journeyman ticket is required

Additional Requirements

  • Work in a team environment
  • Ability to plan work and self-direct
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environment
  • Must have complete set of tools
  • Knowledge and experience with hydraulics and air brakes
  • Knowledge and experience with gas and diesel engines
  • Knowledge and experience with electrical systems and schematics
  • Prefer experience with loaders, excavators, and rock trucks, and hydraulic drill repairs
  • Mine experience would be an asset
  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
