About the role

Columbia Basin Trust is seeking a Communications Coordinator to join our team. If you have a passion for communications and experience leading and executing a broad range of communications and marketing initiatives, we want to hear from you! This is a full-time position based out of one of offices located in Castlegar, Cranbrook, Nakusp or Golden.

The salary range for this position is $69,800 – $82,200.

Reporting to a manager in our communications department, the successful candidate will:

  • Lead communications and marketing initiatives, developing and executing plans for internal and external audiences.
  • Manage content creation by writing, editing and producing stories, web content, reports, presentations and promotional materials.
  • Coordinate design, production and distribution of print, digital and multimedia assets, including oversight of external vendors and advertising schedules.
  • Drive digital and social media strategy by managing website content, publishing and monitoring social media activity and producing analytics insights.
  • Support media relations, recruitment and stakeholder engagement through media releases, briefing notes and key messages
  • Plan and deliver events and high-profile initiatives, preparing materials and communications to support successful execution.
  • Provide administrative support to the department, including meeting coordination, minute-taking, invoice verification and budget tracking.

What We’re Looking For

  • Diploma in communications, marketing, journalism, business or related field.
  • Three or more years of experience in communications and marketing, including digital campaigns, media relations, content creation and project coordination.
  • Experience with website content management systems, social media management, analytics tools and digital advertising platforms.
  • Proficiency with graphic design software (Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, etc.) is considered an asset.
  • Advanced computer software experience such as Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Email Marketing Software or similar as used in a communications department.
