Summary

It is the responsibility of the Supervisor Operations to lead, supervise, and support the operations team at show site and in the Branch Office while keeping job costs at the lowest possible level and maintaining quality and safety standards. Professionally interacts with customers, team members, and third-party vendor/partner representatives to provide the highest level of service excellence. Provides immediate supervision to front line union personnel. Sets business parameters and delegates day to day tasks to achieve operational objectives. On-going supervision of union labour is a primary job responsibility to ensure policy, procedures and practices are followed. This role is eligible to work an in person schedule based out of our office in Toronto.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Directly supervise union labour. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Company's policies and applicable laws. Becomes familiar with and follow all terms of employment as outlined in the current Collective Bargaining Agreement. Plan, organize, and direct Operations Department activities to ensure 100% customer satisfaction. Study production schedules, estimate number of union labour and hour requirements for completion of job assignment, and assign standby labor, as necessary. Work with account executive to be sure their needs are met. Schedule area foreman and place labour calls. Schedule radios, scooters, scissor lifts, boom lifts, trailers, trucks, and forklifts as required. Interpret specifications, blueprints, and job orders to union labour, and assign duties as appropriate. Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product. Suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of department, or crew. Lead operations team members in maintaining high morale and work standards and build teamwork among the department. Maintain time and production reports. Estimate, requisition, and inspect all job-related materials. Confer with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments. Prepare labor requirements and always ensure adequate coverage. Schedule move-in and move-out time to eliminate as much overtime as possible. Ensure union labour comply with company policies and adhere to all safety guidelines. Maintain communication with the Account Executive and the Service Desk and advise of any problems that may affect their operation. Prepare initial accident reports in accordance with the Risk Management Manual. Ensure operations equipment is well maintained and meets company standards.

Education & Experience

High School Diploma or equivalent. Two years of supervisory experience. Two years of show site freight, decorating and/or I&D experience. Working knowledge of MS Word and Excel. Organizational and analytical skills. Self-motivated with ability to lead. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Excellent customer service skills. Ability to travel in the US & Canada Ability to travel regularly in the GTA Work Location: In person
