Our multi-modality clinics are expanding, and we're actively seeking a skilled and registered full-time Ultrasound Team Lead (Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Team Lead) to join our Marlborough team.
As the Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Team Lead (Ultrasound Team Lead), you will empower ultrasound technologists to ensure smooth workflow, quality patient care, and adherence to protocols. Your role will involve providing guidance, mentorship, and support to team members while fostering collaboration and communication among healthcare professionals across departments.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Coaching and Mentorship: Oversee performance addressing individual and team needs.
- Training: Lead onboarding, training, and ongoing development for the Marlborough Ultrasound team, enhancing technical capabilities and overall performance.
- Staffing and Scheduling: Review time-off requests, approve time sheets, and assist with scheduling adjustments as needed to sustain operational continuity.
- Perform Ultrasound Exams: Capture high-quality, complete images by ensuring all necessary views are obtained to enable accurate diagnoses and treatment planning.
- Assist in Procedures: Support physicians during interventional radiology and pain management procedures with fluoroscopic guidance.
- Provide Compassionate Care: Explain exams and procedures, address questions, ease concerns, and help patients feel comfortable.
- Maintain Equipment and Supplies: Oversee equipment calibration and service resolving basic issues, and manage supply needs to enable uninterrupted services.
- Uphold Standards and Compliance: Promote adherence to protocols, processes, and regulatory policies while maintaining patient safety, comfort, and privacy.
- Collaborate with Healthcare Teams: Strengthen partnerships with radiologists, x-ray, administrative, and other core teams to align efforts and deliver unified patient care.
- Expand Expertise: Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current on emerging imaging techniques, technologies, and best practices.
- Enhance Workflows: Contribute to improvements that optimize efficiency and patient outcomes.
- Talent Acquisition: Contribute to talent attraction efforts for current and future Ultrasound team members.
- Retention: Encourage retention through effective onboarding, continuous development, and a focus on engagement and workplace satisfaction.
What We’re Looking For
- Education: A post-secondary education from an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program in Canada.
- Professional Membership: Active membership with Sonography Canada as a Certified Registered Generalist Sonographer.
- Ultrasound Expertise: Clinical competency as a sonographer, preferably with a minimum of two years in practice, with proven ability to perform procedures and produce high-quality diagnostic images.
- People Management Skills: Demonstrated effectiveness managing staffing, performance, training, and conflict resolution.
- Leadership Excellence: Inspires trust and connection through open communication and active listening, creating cohesion within and across multi-disciplinary teams.

- Inventory Knowledge: Familiarity with tracking, ordering, and managing ultrasound supplies is considered an asset.
- Continuous Learning and Development: A history of engaging in professional growth opportunities and contributing to team development by sharing expertise.
- Specialized Training: MSK, OB/GYN, vascular, or cardiac ultrasound, and/or interventional ultrasound procedures are an asset
