Job Summary
- Manage assigned Real Property programs including the inception, planning, design, construction, commissioning, accreditation, and evaluation to satisfy time, cost, scope, security, operational, and quality requirements.
- Oversee the work of contracted project managers and consultants and provide technical guidance/advice.
- Manage the development of documents such as plans, reports, briefs, and conceptual / preliminary designs.
- Plan and administer operating and capital budgets for Real Property programs.
- Analyze technical documents and provide advice to senior management.
- Provide strategic planning on Real Property programs.
- Provide recommendations on Real Property program management policies, guidelines, techniques, and standards.
- Note: Certain positions may include supervisory responsibilities, including the management and supervision of employees or contracted personnel.
Education
- Undergraduate degree or
- College diploma
The undergraduate degree / college diploma must be in a field of study relevant to the duties and functions of the position such as Architecture, Engineering, Project Management, Interior Design. The specific field of study will determine the business line for which you qualify.
The undergraduate degree / college diploma must have been obtained from an accredited learning institution recognized in Canada. If you completed a program outside of Canada, you will be required to obtain proof of a Canadian equivalency at your expense from an accredited learning institution recognized in Canada.
Any higher level of education (i.e.: Masters, Doctorate) in a related field of study could be recognized as experience.
Experience
- Portfolio and program management experience for Real Property Planning, construction or infrastructure initiatives. Only experience related to commercial, institutional or office buildings will be considered
- Experience assembling and managing project and program teams comprised of a diverse array of professional consultants, technical specialists, policy centres and management resources
- Experience maintaining budgets and forecasts.
- Experience building and maintaining effective partnerships and working collaboratively with internal and external partners and stakeholders
- Experience in the preparation (writing, reviewing, editing) of reports, such as briefing notes, business cases, investment analysis reports offering solutions and making recommendations to senior management on strategic issues, and in the preparation of project management plans for the purpose of describing the comprehensive approach the project team will follow
- Experience in project definition and in analyzing technical reports
- Experience acquired in the delivery and management of Real Property projects and programs will be taken into consideration.
