##Overview

The Research Coordinator will support and coordinate the Northwestern Ontario Workplace and Worker Health Study (NOWWHS), including managing survey updates, preparing REB applications, leading meetings, and overseeing day-to-day study activities.

The role applies knowledge of research methods and scientific principles to support data collection, analysis, and reporting. The incumbent will help maintain research protocols, contribute to study improvements, and collaborate with the Principal Investigator, research team, and external partners.

##Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and oversee the day-to-day operations of the Northwestern Ontario Workplace and Worker Health Study (NOWWHS), ensuring project timelines and deliverables are met
  • Lead survey updates, prepare and submit REB applications, and facilitate project meetings and overall study coordination
  • Conduct and support research activities, including data collection, analysis, and interpretation using established methodologies
  • Review and synthesize relevant literature to support study objectives and research outputs
  • Contribute to the development and refinement of research tools, protocols, and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Prepare and assist with reports, manuscripts, and grant-related documentation
  • Collaborate with the Principal Investigator, research team, and external partners to support project goals
  • Maintain accurate research records, databases, and documentation in compliance with institutional and ethical standards
  • Provide guidance and support to students or junior researchers on research processes and best practices

##Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Public Health, Occupational Health, Epidemiology, Health Sciences, Kinesiology, Psychology, or a related discipline, with relevant research experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience coordinating research projects, including managing timelines, meetings, and deliverables
  • Knowledge of research methodologies, data collection, and analysis techniques
  • Experience preparing and submitting Research Ethics Board (REB) applications is an asset
  • Strong organizational and project coordination skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including report and manuscript preparation
  • Proficiency in research-related software, databases, and Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a research team
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate documentation
