Qualifications

  • Current Certificate of Competence from College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Certification
  • Basic ECG interpretation course
  • Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification
  • Advanced ECG interpretation course
  • Current Canadian Triage Acuity Scale (CTAS) Certification
  • Current Non-violent crisis intervention (NVCI) course

-Current IV Initiation Skills - adult and paediatric

  • Added skills – IV Below Drip Chamber administration
  • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC)
  • NRP, PALS, ENPC preferred
  • Emergency Nursing Program Diploma an asset
  • Minimum 6 months Emergency experience within last 3 years
  • Minimum 3 years Medical/Surgical experience preferred
  • Critical Care experience an asset
  • Excellent Public Relation, organizational and communication skills
  • Able to work in a fast paced multidisciplinary setting
  • Satisfactory performance appraisal in current position for internal candidates
  • Documented commitment to continuing education through in-service, staff meetings and self-motivated learning
  • Satisfactory Attendance for internal candidates
  • Commitment to Patient Care & Safety and Service Excellence
  • Satisfactory vulnerable person’s sector criminal background check

Woodstock Hospital is much more than a hospital, it is an essential resource to the quality of life for each person in our catchment area. Everyone at our hospital takes pride in our proven commitment to the health and well being of our patients and our community.

A new 178 bed capacity, full-service community hospital opened on August 26, 2011. We provide primary care to a population of 55,000 people and offer specialized care to nearly 110,000 within the County of Oxford. Our hospital is dedicated to delivering the highest standard of patient-focused medical care with:

  • over 100 doctors including those with courtesy and consulting privileges
