About the role

The Director, Dealer Channel & UEI Financing Operations is responsible for the strategic leadership, growth, and operational performance of Reliance's Authorized Dealer Program and UEI Financing business. This role will drive sustainable revenue growth, profitability, dealer network expansion, and partner satisfaction while ensuring effective execution across sales, finance, operations, and marketing functions. Reporting to the Vice President of Sales, the Director will leverage strong financial, commercial, and people leadership capabilities to develop growth strategies, optimize business performance, and lead organizational initiatives that support long-term business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Growth & Business Leadership Develop and execute the growth strategy for Reliance's Authorized Dealer Program and UEI Financing business, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives. Drive sustainable growth in dealer network performance, revenue, profitability, and market share. Balance short-term business objectives with long-term program sustainability, partner success, and overall profitability. Analyze market trends, competitive activity, and business performance to identify opportunities and develop actionable growth strategies. Translate financial and operational insights into commercial initiatives that improve business results and customer outcomes.

Financial & Operational Management

Own overall business performance with accountability for P&L management, forecasting, and achievement of financial targets. Monitor key performance indicators and implement strategies to optimize revenue, profitability, and operational effectiveness. Ensure appropriate risk management practices and controls are in place while supporting responsible business growth. Provide regular performance updates, insights, and recommendations to senior leadership.

Dealer & Partner Management

Build and maintain strong relationships with dealer partners, ensuring a high level of engagement, satisfaction, and long-term success. Develop strategies that strengthen dealer performance, drive growth, and enhance the overall partner experience. Establish credibility and trust with internal and external stakeholders through consistent leadership and business results.

Leadership & Talent Development

Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team focused on delivering exceptional business results. Establish clear performance expectations, accountability measures, and development plans to support individual and team success. Provide ongoing coaching, recognition, and performance feedback. Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performance culture that supports employee engagement and continuous improvement. Participate actively in talent planning, succession management, and leadership development initiatives.

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Transformation

Influence stakeholders across a complex, matrixed organization to drive alignment and achieve desired outcomes. Lead transformational initiatives that improve processes, capabilities, efficiency, and overall business performance. Champion change management efforts and help teams successfully adapt to evolving business needs.

Qualifications

Minimum 5 years of progressive senior leadership experience, preferably within dealer channel management, financial services, consumer financing, or a related industry. Proven success in developing and executing growth strategies through dealer, channel, or partner-based business models. Demonstrated financial acumen with experience managing P&Ls, forecasting, analyzing business performance, and making data-driven decisions. Strong commercial mindset with the ability to identify opportunities and translate insights into business results. Exceptional leadership, communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Proven ability to influence and build alignment across stakeholders in a complex, matrixed environment. Experience leading organizational change, business transformation, and continuous improvement initiatives. Track record of delivering strong business performance and exceeding growth objectives. Proven ability to build, coach, and develop high-performing teams. Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities. Bachelor's degree or diploma in Business, Finance, Commerce, Marketing, or a related discipline. MBA or Financial designation a plus. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and business systems including CRM and ERP platforms. Ability to travel within Canada (up to 20%).
