About the role:
- Assist in conducting geotechnical investigations and analyses to support project requirements.
- Plan, implement, and oversee geotechnical investigation programs, ensuring they align with project goals and timelines.
- Support laboratory testing activities, ensuring accurate data collection and analysis.
- Prepare and improve detailed calculation spreadsheets to support engineering designs and analyses.
- Develop high-quality technical reports that communicate findings and recommendations clearly.
- Contribute to technical presentations and assist in the review and interpretation of instrumentation data.
- Collaborate effectively as an integral team member in a multidisciplinary environment to drive project success.
- Willingness to travel to client sites within Canada and internationally to support project activities.
About you
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or related field.
- 1 to 3 years of relevant experience, with an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification will be an asset
- A Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field is preferred.
- Solid understanding of soil characterization, laboratory testing, and data collection techniques.
- Eagerness to learn and gain experience in the design of tailings storage facilities and waste rock dumps.
- Intermediate level knowledge in softwares such as Rocsience (Slide, Deeps, Settle2, etc), Geostudio, Plaxis and/or Flac.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills English. Spanish skills will be an asset.
