About the role

Description

The Department of Undergraduate Medical Education in the Cumming School of Medicine invites applications for a Senior Application Developer. This Full-time Fixed Term position is for approximately 12 months (based on length of grant funding), with the possibility of extension.

Reporting to the Manager, Academic Technologies, with accountabilities to the Associate Dean of Undergraduate Medical Education and other academic leadership, this position provides advanced technical expertise in the development, maintenance, and support of two critical platforms.

Summary of Key Responsibilities (job functions include but are not limited to)

OSLER (Elentra)

Implement new features and workflows to support curriculum delivery, evaluation, and assessment Maintain and upgrade existing functionality based on user feedback and accreditation requirements Infrastructure for SAMP administration, reporting, recruitment, and student experience improvement Generate reports for program directors and committees Generate reports for event-based payments

Vera

Maintain and enhance the preceptor payment eligibility system

Develop reporting tools for finance and program administration Ensure data integrity and compliance with payment policies

General Technical Support

Create and maintain SharePoint sites and workflows

Develop Excel macros and tools for data processing and reporting Assist with finance-adjacent tasks related to payment eligibility and reporting

Qualifications / Requirements

University degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related discipline 5+ years of related experience required Strong experience in web application development (PHP, JavaScript, HTML, CSS) Familiarity with relational databases (MySQL, MSSQL, PostgreSQL) Experience with reporting tools and data visualization Experience with a front-end framework (like React) Proficiency in SharePoint development and Excel macros Strong understanding of financial workflows and data integrity principles Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with faculty, staff, and external partners
