Shift: Rotating, 7.5 hour

Shift Start: Hours are subject to change based on operational requirements.

Position Description

Summary As an integral member of the Nuclear Medicine team, the technologist performs general Nuclear Medicine, Nuclear Cardiology and PET/CT procedures as outlined in the procedure manuals. The technologist must be capable of all digital post processing of patient data for physician interpretation; paper scanning to PACs; maintaining current knowledge of and utilizing PACS to view, manipulate and archive digital images of data in final image formation; operating, troubleshooting and ensuring equipment and instruments are performing in an effective and efficient manner; preparing written and electronic reports required to document all procedures and test results; and participating in educational, research, safety and quality improvement programs/activities.

Qualifications

  • Current registration with the College of Medical Radiation Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO) in Nuclear Medicine required
  • CAMRT Specialty Certificate in CT Imaging is an asset
  • Member of CAMRT preferred
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (B.C.L.S.) program, Level II: Basic Rescuer certification
  • Knowledge and experience with angio catheter insertions, IV skills and insertion
  • Excellent problem recognition and problem solving skills
  • Effective time management skills; ability to organize work and set priorities
  • Proven effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively independently or as a team member
  • Ability to work accurately and multi-task under stressful conditions
  • Good computer skills in Word, Excel and email
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuing education and professional development
  • Awareness of hospital emergency codes and procedures
  • Knowledge of ECG setup and basic interpretation
  • Familiarity with different equipment, makes and models
  • Experience and exposure to teaching and student mentoring
  • Excellent work performance and attendance record
