Position Summary
The Communications and Revenue Development Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the planning, development and execution of internal and external communication plans, health promotion activities, as well as the administration of fundraising strategies and events, which strengthen the public profile of CMHA Niagara.
Essential Job Functions

Through development of internal and external communication plans, promote the CMHA Niagara “brand” and ensure that all communication activities are aligned with and support strong public relations, health promotion and fund development initiatives

Plan and execute fundraising activities and events by setting goals, establishing work plans, preparing budgets for approval and progress reports, and maintaining accurate database records (e.g. E-tapestry) and coordinating the appropriate involvement of volunteers and staff

Coordinate and participate in, where needed, third-party fundraising events for CMHA Niagara, ensuring compliance with policies and guidelines, and fostering relationships with the fundraising partners

Research and identify new funding opportunities and prepare grant applications

Foster, build and maintain relations with prospective and existing partners and donors, by initiating and planning outreach meetings and investment opportunity presentations, as appropriate
-
Recruit, train, schedule and support non-clinical volunteers to support communication, health promotion and fundraising activities (including Bingo)

Other duties as assigned
Essential Job Requirements

Successful completion of a university undergraduate degree program or accredited community college diploma in Marketing, Corporate Communications, Fundraising, Resource Development or a related discipline

2 -3 years of related employment experience in the not-for-profit sector

Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) designation would be an asset
-
Photography skills would be considered an asset
-
Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with strong relationship-building and organizational abilities.

Certified in the following safety courses: Crisis Intervention (i.e. NVCI, Safety Care, CPI or Safe Management), Standard First Aid – CPR C - AED, and Suicide Prevention (SafeTalk)

Satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Screening (Police Check)

Access to a reliable personal vehicle

Current valid Class ‘G’ driver’s license

Bilingualism, particularly proficiency in French, would be considered a valuable asset

Experience
