Social Video Editor (1 Year Contract)
The Social Video Editor will support our Entertainment channels on YouTube. This editor will work cross-functionally across our newly launched brands (ranging in genres from Paranormal to Food and Extreme Weather) to implement and optimize social video content, create thumbnails, create copy and support audience engagement strategy.
This role will report into the Senior Director, Digital and is a hybrid position requiring in-office attendance at our head office in Toronto for a minimum of three (3) days per week.
Core Responsibilities & Duties
- Edit, upload, and optimize weekly digital content, including scene-lifts, full-length episodes, compilations, and create mobile-first content, on YouTube, Snapchat and Meta platforms
- Collaborate with the Social Strategist to develop monthly editorial calendars and enhance social media engagement across all platforms for our Entertainment channels
- Utilize various content formats, such as gifs and polls, to create interactive and engaging social media content. Maintain active community management and promptly respond to audience comments across social media channels
- Package and schedule original content from production companies, ensuring adherence to quality standards in terms of technical aspects, exploitation rights and content strategy. Efficiently manage folders and files
- Analyze audience feedback and insights to support content strategies, identify trends, and optimize content to maximize engagement
- Demonstrate strong attention to detail and possess an understanding of content ownership rights. Adhere diligently to program contracts while creating and publishing content for each platform
- Any other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Experience
- High proficiency in video editing & design (Adobe Premiere, Photoshop)
- Strong knowledge of and expesrience with YouTube
- Familiarity with analytics tools and methods for measuring success through data
- Comfortable with Excel and Google Sheets
- Superior organizational and project management skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
