Job Summary:
The Safety Coordinator is responsible for helping to advance a culture of safety excellence where everyone is engaged, empowered, and innovative in cultivating a workplace that promotes the health, safety, and security of our employees, contractors, and visitors. Reporting on-site to the EHS Supervisor, this position has a significant impact on the personal health, safety, and culture of the facility. You will be accountable for overseeing and coordinating the site’s occupational safety programs and initiatives.

The Safety Coordinator is responsible for helping to advance a culture of safety excellence where everyone is engaged, empowered, and innovative in cultivating a workplace that promotes the health, safety, and security of our employees, contractors, and visitors. Reporting on-site to the EHS Supervisor, this position has a significant impact on the personal health, safety, and culture of the facility. You will be accountable for overseeing and coordinating the site’s occupational safety programs and initiatives.
Major Responsibilities
:

Support the strategic vision for safety performance and culture and develop meaningful actions required to achieve and/or improve that vision.

Instruct and consult on occupational safety matters and serve as a subject matter expert for safety-related activities.

Develop, implement, and maintain programs pertaining to field-level occupational safety, including:
- Contractor Management, including ISN
- Safety Leadership program and analytics
- JSA
- LOTO
- WAH
- PPE
- Start Right and Ergonomics
- First Break
- Safety audits

Lead and Support Investigations and Analytics
- Lead management reviews of investigation / near miss/hazard ID reports
- Complete analytics on incident reporting and improvements
- Support large investigations and cause mapping

Coordinate Safety Effectiveness Management Initiatives
- Coordinate annual multi-disciplinary effectiveness reviews of safety programs
- Coordinate Periodic program reviews following the site's Information Management Policy

Act as Site EMIS Superuser
- Lead EMIS development locally and corporately through the TPC
- Maintain EMIS as the site System Admin

Incumbent Attributes:
- Post-secondary diploma, with a preference for Occupational Safety or a related field
- At least 3 years of related professional experience within a manufacturing environment
- A strong working knowledge of applicable legislation and codes
- A valid driver’s license is required for this position.
- CF Industries (Terra International Canada Inc.) is deemed a safety-sensitive manufacturing site. Applicants considered for hire must successfully pass our pre-employment screening process, which includes: Criminal Background check, pre-employment Drug and Alcohol testing, Drivers Abstract, Employment References, and Education verification.

Salary
The estimated base pay for this position is typically between $72,900.00 – $96,200.00.
The actual base pay for the position may be influenced by factors such as education, training, skills, qualifications, competencies, years of experience, job-related knowledge, and scope of the role, and could be outside of the posted pay range.
In addition to base pay, an incentive program is available to all full-time employees, and a comprehensive benefits package including two medical plan options, dental and vision benefits, a well-being incentive program, life and disability insurance, paid time off programs, and much more!
