Position Title: Child Care Registrar
Location: Sprouts Early Childhood Development Hub (3368 Carscallen Rd, Richmond, BC V6X 0R5)
Term: Seasonal Contract, Full-Time
Hours: 35 hours per week
Shift: Monday - Friday, 8:30am to 4:30pm
Start Date: July 6th, 2026
End Date: August 28th, 2026
Salary: $27.36 per hour
Reports To: Supervisor, Registration, Children and Youth Services
This position is funded by the Canada Summer Jobs Grant.

Nature & Scope
Reporting directly to the Supervisor, Registration, Children and Youth Services, the Child Care Registrar is responsible for ensuring YMCA BC’s licensed care spaces are fully enrolled. This includes managing the waitlists for 150+ programs, responding to parent inquires, and working collaboratively with the operations team and leading a team of child care registrars.
Major Responsibilities**-** in this position, you will**:**
- To support registration for all School Age, Early Years and licensed Day Camp programs within YMCA BC Child Care.
- To maintain and update centre enrollments, child care waitlist and reporting as required
- To maintain timely communication between parents, centre supervisors & management teams
- To provide admin support for the development of new child care facilities, the branch Strong Kids campaign, human resources and child protection functions.
- To perform other related duties as required and be flexible to a changing work environment
- Commitment and focused attention to ensure child care meets the association commitments and targets while ensuring that all programs operate at maximum capacity
Qualification**-you bring:**
- A minimum of 1 years’ experience in an administrative assistant or relevant role
- Proven track record in effectively navigating and utilizing databases
- Demonstrate a high level of organizational and administrative skills
- Exhibit exceptional customer service skills coupled with cultural sensitivity
- Excel in maintaining process and detail orientation while adeptly managing multiple tasks
- Proficient in utilizing Microsoft Office tools such as Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Capable of working both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Proactively take initiative and manage time effectively in a fast- paced, dynamic setting
- Prioritize workload with precision, showcasing impeccable organizational skills and attention to detail
- Possess analytical and problem-solving acumen
- Successful candidate will be required to provide 3 satisfactory references
- Successful candidates will be required to provide a current and satisfactory Criminal Record check with a Vulnerable sector search issued no later than six (6) months preceding the start date.
Canada Summer Job Criteria
- Be between 19 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment.
- Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person who has been granted refugee status in Canada under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act.
- Be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations. International participants are not eligible. Recent immigrants are eligible if they are Canadian citizens or permanent residents**.**
