Job Title: Senior Grain Accounting Administrator

Location: Head Office – Winnipeg (On Site)

The Senior Grain Accounting Administrator will primarily be responsible for providing support and daily leadership of the Accounting Administration team (mainly truck invoicing). They will also ensure the timely and accurate administration of invoicing (truck, rail and vessel), support invoice processing for all types of transportation, reporting on key business metrics, and heavily involve in business initiatives/projects on process improvements within the team. They will be responsible for process improvement ideas and lead process transformation with the support of management. They will be required to work with different stakeholders (internal and external) to ensure projects are moving forward on a timely manner and creating standard operating procedures for new/updated processes.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide daily leadership and process administration support for the Accounting Administration team (mainly truck invoicing)
  • Working closely with Logistics, Trading team, and the country Administrative Assistants to ensure truck invoicing is done in a timely and accurate manner
  • Act as the main contact for truck invoicing and the related processes
  • Provide process improvement ideas and lead process transformation around truck invoicing
  • Administration of trucking premiums and discounts
  • Reporting weekly on trucking open orders to Logistics & Trading teams
  • Monitoring of key internal processes to ensure accurate financial information
  • Month/year end duties as assigned (ex. shipped not invoiced for all types of transportation)
  • Assist in other areas and functions of the finance department
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by Manager

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Business Administration or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 3-5 years general accounting experience
  • Midway through CPA designation program (preferred but not necessary)
  • Experience providing coaching and proven ability to problem solve
  • Knowledge of accounts payable/receivable and general accounting procedures
  • Highly detail oriented with effective communication and time management skills
  • High level of customer service
  • Ability to work in a challenging, changing environment
  • Strong system experience (Agrosoft, SQL query. SAP) and general grain industry knowledge considered an asset
