Reports To: IS Operations Supervisor
The Business Systems Analyst - Bill Review Specialist is responsible for analyzing and resolving billing data issues, supporting claims business systems, and acting as a liaison between the Bill Review department and IT. This role collects business requirements, supports client implementations, provides training, ensures data integrity, and maintains compliance documentation. The ideal candidate will deliver innovative solutions, facilitate communication among stakeholders, and drive process improvements
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze and resolve Bill review related data issues promptly and accurately.
- Serve as a liaison between business stakeholders, Bill Review, IT developers, vendors, and QA teams.
- Answer billing and system procedural questions; provide application support to users.
- Support client implementations, onboarding, and system configuration to meet client-specific requirements.
- Facilitate user acceptance testing (UAT) and document test results and signoffs.
- Maintain and update Fee Schedule and related code tables; ensure proper data corrections.
- Manage State Medical EDI submissions and correction filings.
- Utilize SQL to query databases, extract/analyze data, validate system behavior, and support reporting/troubleshooting.
- Research and correct errors on data loads by coordinating with systems analysts.
- Automate manual processes to improve efficiency.
- Maintain and update client location information in databases.
- Instruct clients and ancillary providers on proper system usage and resolve billing/data issues.
- Collaborate with developers, programmers, analysts, and designers on new software programs and applications.
- Maintain system documentation for compliance
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) or equivalent experience (3-5 years related experience/training).

High School Diploma minimum; higher education preferred.

Minimum one year in a Help Desk/IS technician environment.

Minimum two years in a position requiring critical thinking skills.
-
Medical Bill Review experience a plus.

Strong analytical, mathematical, and critical thinking skills.
-
Team-oriented, self-motivated, and able to work independently.
-
Ability to multi-task and maintain strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
-
Experience with software, help desk environments, and troubleshooting data issues.

Effective communication and relationship-building skills (oral and written).
-
Advanced skills in Excel, PowerBI and PowerApps experience preferred.

Knowledge of SQL, XML, Visual Basic, ASP, JSP, HTML a plus.

Ability to research and resolve data issues; maintain industry and technical knowledge.

Manual dexterity, arm and upper body range of motion for keyboard, mouse, and telephone use.

Speech, hearing, and vision sufficient for communication and computer use.

Ability to sit at a desk and perform duties effectively for extended periods.
