The Rehabilitation Assistant assists with the delivery of physiotherapy, occupational therapy and speech language services by performing therapeutic patient care activities under the direction and supervision of a physiotherapist, occupational therapist and speech language pathologist, by assisting patients with self care activities and by performing clerical duties to support the rehabilitation staff, and by maintaining a clean safe working environment.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum of a two (2) year College Diploma in Physiotherapy/Occupational Rehabilitation Assistant or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Certification
  • Minimum of three (3) months of experience as a Rehabilitation Assistant, Occupational Therapy Assistant or Occupational Therapist in an acute care setting and/or related clinical setting.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with physicians, Senior Leadership, outside organizations and other staff both verbally and via internet.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team setting
  • Embodies the LEAN ideology by actively and continually seeking opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Must have demonstrated ability to meet the attendance standards of the Hospital
  • Bilingualism preferred (French/English)
