About the Company
Our client is a well-established, high-end real estate organization with a portfolio of investments and operating entities across the Greater Toronto Area. They are seeking a proactive and highly organized Bookkeeper to oversee the full-cycle accounting and bookkeeping function across multiple entities while providing operational and administrative support to ownership and senior management. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in an entrepreneurial environment where responsibilities extend beyond traditional bookkeeping. The successful candidate will be comfortable managing accounting operations while also taking on special projects and business-related tasks as needed.
Position Summary
The Bookkeeper will be responsible for the full-cycle accounting and bookkeeping functions for multiple entities, ensuring accurate financial reporting, reconciliations, cash flow tracking, and financial record maintenance. In addition to accounting responsibilities, the role will provide support on operational and administrative initiatives that contribute to the overall success of the business. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, adaptable, and willing to roll up their sleeves to support various aspects of the organization when required.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Bookkeeping Manage full-cycle bookkeeping for multiple corporate entities. Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions. Perform bank, credit card, loan, and account reconciliations. Record and reconcile intercompany transactions and balances. Maintain general ledger accuracy and ensure proper account coding. Prepare month-end and year-end reconciliations and supporting schedules. Produce financial statements, management reports, and cash flow summaries. Monitor cash balances and assist with cash flow planning. Track prepaid expenses, accruals, and other balance sheet accounts. Prepare GST/HST filings and other regulatory remittances. Manage expense reporting and corporate credit card reconciliations. Coordinate with external accountants during year-end financial statement preparation and tax filings. Maintain organized financial records and supporting documentation. Administrative & Operational Support Provide administrative support to ownership and senior leadership. Assist with special projects, research assignments, and business initiatives. Prepare reports, presentations, and ad hoc analyses as required. Coordinate with banks, legal counsel, consultants, and external service providers. Support process improvements and administrative efficiencies across the organization. Assist with office operations and various business-related tasks as needed. Take on responsibilities and projects that may fall outside the traditional scope of bookkeeping. Qualifications 3+ years of full-cycle bookkeeping experience. Experience managing accounting functions across multiple entities. Strong understanding of accounting principles and month-end close processes. Proficiency with QuickBooks, Sage, or other accounting software. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and financial reporting. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities. detail oriented communication skills and a high level of discretion when handling confidential information. Flexible, hands-on approach with a willingness to support broader business needs. Preferred Qualifications Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration. Experience working in a multi-entity environment. Experience supporting business owners, executives, or entrepreneurial organizations. Completion of or progress toward a bookkeeping or accounting designation is considered an asset.
