Position Summary Under the general direction of the Program Manager, the Physiotherapist provides assessment of assigned clients, and develops and implements individual and group physiotherapy treatment programs. The Physiotherapist is accountable for maintaining the Standards of Practice and Ethics of the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario. The Physiotherapist will provide clinical education and experience for allied health students and will participate in formal teaching and research in collaboration with Queen’s University or other institutions. As a team member, the Physiotherapist participates in discipline-specific and inter-professional activities that are directed towards a client centered environment and that contribute to quality, operational efficiency, professional and program development.

Required Qualifications And Experience

  • Graduate of a recognized school of Physiotherapy
  • Active, unrestricted license to practice with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario
  • Experience in specified area of practice, preferred.
  • Experience in student supervision, an asset

Position Duties & Responsibilities

  • Utilizes evidence-based practice and best practice
  • Utilizes outcome measures to guide clinical decision-making
  • Reviews medical referrals
  • Performs appropriate evaluation/assessment
  • Analyses and states clinical findings
  • Establishes treatment goals in collaboration with the client
  • Identifies and implements treatment to achieve client goals
  • Ensures informed consent is obtained for assessment, treatment, and disclosure or release of information
