Our Washbay Technician Shift Lead is responsible for overseeing and supervising washbay operations, with guidance provided by their supervisor ensuring all quality, safety, and efficiency standards are followed.

Caron is currently recruiting for a full-time Washbay Shift Lead for the night shift at our Sherwood Park terminal.

Our ideal candidate

  • Special Boiler Operator ticket preferred, or the willingness and ability to obtain this within 3 months
  • 3 – 5 years experience leading in a washbay environment with tanker experience preferred
  • High School/GED
  • Valid Class 5 License, Class 1 License an asset
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions

Job duties

Operational Responsibilities

  • Supervise, co-ordinate and schedule the activities of the washbay crew with direction provided by the Supervisor
  • Work with Supervisor
    • To resolve work issues
    • To provide updates on completed, in progress, and to be scheduled work
  • Retrieve dispatch orders and wash tickets
  • Perform exterior and interior tank washes to quality standards
  • Perform confined space entries
  • Operate tank cleaning computer system
  • Operate high pressure steam system
  • Maintain washbay cleanliness and efficiency
  • Report any problems or repairs as needed
  • Perform yard checks and maintain yard as necessary

Employee Management Responsibilities

  • Manage and monitor break times
  • Motivate crew to maintain high productivity
  • Inform Supervisor of any and all issues that occur during shift

Safety Management Responsibilities

  • Ensure safety standards are observed

  • Report any work related injuries/incidents

  • Participate in all safety related, compliance, and regulatory programs and education

  • Perform assigned tasks in accordance with the Caron QMS and production standards required by the Company and the industry as a whole

  • Perform all other related duties as assigned
