Position Summary:

The Engineering Student position supports safe and efficient aggregate operations by managing production schedules & inventory, while ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. Reporting to the Site Manager, the role includes coordinating mining and rehabilitation plans, assisting with special projects, and representing the site during government visits. The ideal candidate is enrolled in an accredited university engineering program, working knowledge of AutoCAD & Microsoft Excel, and is comfortable working in outdoor environments.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Support a safe workplace by following OH&S legislation and Dufferin Aggregates safety policies, including required training.
  • Coordinate daily production and maintenance schedules and share progress with the team.
  • Assist with mine planning, rehabilitation planning, and special site projects.
  • Balance production and inventories to meet customer demand and support property rehabilitation efforts.
  • Represent the site during government visits and maintain accurate product inventory management.
  • Apply strong problem‑solving, financial understanding, and independent decision‑making in day‑to‑day work.

Job Requirements:

  • Enrolled in an accredited engineering program—Civil, Mechanical, Mining, or Engineering Technology preferred.
  • 1–2 years of relevant experience with sound knowledge of OH&S practices.
  • Proficient with AutoCAD and MS Office, including Project.
  • Demonstrates optimism, ownership, collaboration, and openness to new ideas.
  • Able to work respectfully with others and contribute in an outdoor environment with exposure to weather.
