About the role
Job purpose
Reporting to the Manager, Pricing (within the Pricing & Costing Team), the Financial Analyst plays a direct role in how HLF manages margin responsibly. Pricing and costing are core disciplines in any consumer business — and the team's work ensures those disciplines are applied consistently, transparently, and with the right governance. The Analyst contributes to that engine from day one: helping execute price changes accurately, keeping the cost and pricing models trusted and current, and surfacing the insights that help leaders anticipate changes in cost and plan for them thoughtfully.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone early in their career. The Analyst will learn how a product gets costed, how a price gets set, and how margin behaves across the value chain — while working closely with Commercial, Procurement, and Operations leaders. The mandate is clear: help rebuild the pricing and costing processes end-to-end, replacing manual, one-off workflows with standardized methodologies, cleaner pricing models, and automated cost-to-price tools.
Accountabilities and responsibilities
-
Build, maintain, and continuously improve the pricing and costing models that underpin customer quoting, price change execution, and margin visibility — with a bias toward automation and repeatability over manual rework
-
Apply advanced Excel skills (complex formulas, Power Query, pivot models, structured references, and lookup/array functions) to replace manual pricing and costing workflows with scalable, auditable tools
-
Support pricing execution activities — timely and accurate price changes, customer quotes, and pricing maintenance — working alongside the costing team and partnering with Commercial, Sales Ops, and Marketing stakeholders
-
Analyze cost drivers — raw materials, conversion, freight, trade — and help surface efficiency opportunities that support disciplined, transparent margin management
-
Bring a continuous improvement mindset to the pricing and costing processes — help revamp how they run end-to-end, focused on standardization before automation, tighter cycle times, and more reliable outcomes
-
Develop a deep understanding of how cost builds into price and how both flow through to margin — and translate that understanding into clearer models, analysis, and stakeholder communication. Support the broader FP&A team on ad-hoc analysis and cross-pillar initiatives as required
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline; recent graduate to 1–2 years of relevant experience
- Actively pursuing (or intending to pursue) a CPA, CFA, or equivalent finance/accounting designation
- Advanced Excel skills are essential — including complex formulas, Power Query, pivot tables, and a working knowledge of how to design reporting tools that scale; exposure to Power BI, VBA, SQL, or similar is a plus
- Genuine passion for understanding the fundamentals — how a P&L is built, how forecasts come together, and why the numbers move the way they do
- Enterprise thinking — curiosity about how decisions in Commercial, Operations, Pricing, and Procurement connect, even early in your career
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy, transparency, and accountability
- Ability to manage competing priorities and meet tight deadlines in a monthly close and planning cadence
- Working knowledge of accounting fundamentals and financial statement mechanics
- Comfortable operating within clear governance and ownership models, with a bias toward a single, trusted version of the truth
- Self-motivated, able to work independently in a fast-paced and transforming environment
- Strong written and oral communication skills — able to explain what the numbers mean, not just what they are
