About the role

Job Description The Resource Assistant will support our French Expansion Grant offerings. Being bilingual is an asset but not required. The successful candidate is responsible for the development of resources and materials to support the delivery of Foundational Services programs. The Resource Assistant will be required to work as a member of a multidisciplinary team. Resources will be requested from a multitude of program models to assist clinicians, community partners and families in implementing treatment plans. The successful candidate will have access to Kinark’s resource bank and will further develop materials to be utilized by clinicians when needed. Working with the Foundational Services Team, the resource assistant may be required to assist in the coordination of group-based services and parent education sessions, these may be virtual or in-person.

You may be scheduled to work evenings, weekends, split shifts, or shorter shifts of less than 7 hours per day. You will be required to work out of other Kinark sites from time to time based on operational needs. As well, you may be assigned to work in different programs and services within the Autism division of Kinark and your primary work location may be reassigned within a 50 kilometer radius based on operational needs.

Duties & Responsibilities (not limited to):

  • Create materials (e.g. pictures, token boards, visual schedules, social stories), to support the various Foundational Services program delivered;
  • Assist clinical staff with the coordination of Foundational Services program and services (e.g., plan and deliver DIY Resource Day offerings);
  • Support clinical staff in the delivery of group-based services and parent education sessions both in person and virtually;
  • Communicating with clinicians when resources are completed and when they will be available for pick up or shipment;
  • Decipher clinical requests to develop tangible resources for clients and their support team;
  • Working in a multidisciplinary team to collaborate and develop resources based on individual client needs;
  • Utilize Kinark’s resource database and own knowledge to personalize resources for clients;
  • Maintain professional demeaner while representing Kinark
  • Develop a system to delineate the priority level of tasks and communicate timelines to clinicians regarding resource completion;
  • May be asked to support in other programs as needed to support clients.

Qualifications:

  • Completion of Community College Diploma or equivalent**
  • Bilingual French/English is an asset
  • Experience using and creating visuals with Board Maker ©
  • Proficient in using advanced features of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, and Access) and database structures.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to track tasks based on level of completion;
  • Thorough knowledge of current office procedures.
  • Experience in using general office equipment.
  • Ability to work independently without supervision.
