We are also on a bus route, with a stop just outside of the hotel, and are offering shared staff accommodation. Our complimentary shuttle also picks up our employees from the bus loop at UBCO! What will you be doing? Reporting to the Executive Chef, you are responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards: Maintain professional kitchen appearance Creation of daily features, weekly vinaigrettes Maintain kitchen cleanliness and maintenance of equipment Notify the Chef immediately of any required repairs Work effectively as part of the team to produce high quality food Observe health and safety practices at all times Daily log book communication Prepare the necessary food items as directed by the Chef de Partie/Sous Chef in accordance with standards and in a timely and efficient fashion to ensure that there is no interruption to guest service Adhere to standardized recipes and specifications in order to maintain consistency and ensure all standards are met Maintain professional kitchen appearance Keep work station clean and organized including fridge’s/freezers, countertops and stove tops Ensure that station opening and closing procedures are carried out to standard Keeps overproduction and food waste to a minimum in order to reduce food cost expense Will operate all kitchen equipment and conduct themselves with safety in mind at all times Ensure that all food products are handled, stored, prepared and served safely in accordance with hotel and government Food Safety guidelines Report any and all deficiencies in kitchen equipment functionality and quality of food products to Chef de Partie/Sous Chef in a timely fashion Other reasonable duties as assigned What are we looking for?
