Position Summary
The City of Fort Saskatchewan is currently recruiting for dynamic and energetic individuals to join our team at the Dow Centennial Centre. Reporting to the Coordinator, DCC, Arenas & Taurus Field, the Facility Attendant will provide regular monitoring duties throughout the Dow Centennial Centre.
Responsibilities
of this position include, but are not limited to:
- Ensure safe and orderly conduct throughout the building.
- Ensure customers have paid prior to participation in events.
- Setup and teardown of recreation equipment; assist with meeting/banquet rooms set up & tear downs.
- Monitor youth activities in the building, including the gymnasium during drop-in times, birthday parties and other events as required.
- Provide light custodial assistance.
- Assist with minor facility and ground maintenance.
- Maintain positive public relations and provide assistance and information services to user groups.
- Respond to patron concerns in a positive and polite manner.
- Monitor equipment and building conditions to ensure a safe recreational opportunity for clients.
Qualifications
Candidates must be mature individuals who possess a positive work attitude and excellent customer service skills. The ability to make practical, fair, and objective decisions pertaining to customer service in order to find solutions to problems is essential. The Facility Attendant’s decisions impact customer satisfaction, safety, return business, and ensures the care and longevity of the facilities are maintained. Security, public relations, or customer service experience would be valuable assets in this position.
This position is within the scope of C.U.P.E. Local 30, and as such, you will be required to adhere to the articles contained within the Collective Agreement.
Hours of Work: Weekday morning, evening, and weekend shifts
The number of hours of work per week may vary based on operational needs and cannot be forecasted.
