**Division:**Global News Edmonton

**Work Status:**Part-Time (32 hours per week)

**Location:**Edmonton, AB (On-site)

About the Role:

Global News Edmonton is hiring a Part-Time News Camera/Editor. Reporting to the Supervisor, News Camera and Alberta Supervisor, Editing, you will shoot and edit coverage of local news, sports and community events for broadcast and digital platforms.

While this role primarily supports the morning show, candidates must be available for early mornings, days, evenings, overnights and weekends.

This is a unionized Group E position.

You will contribute by:

  • Operate ENG cameras in live, breaking and scheduled news environments.

  • Edit news stories using non-linear editing systems in both newsroom and field environments.

  • Shoot, light and transmit live hits.

  • Shoot and upload photos and videos for Globalnews.ca and various social media channels.

  • Ingest video to network servers for use across all Global stations.

  • Be a strong advocate and mentor for digital content and an audience-first workflow.

  • Source, confirm and post compelling user-generated video.

Skills and experience you will bring:

  • Broadcast-related degree or diploma or equivalent newsroom experience.

  • Minimum three years of experience operating ENG Camera’s and non-linear editing.

  • Strong news sense; up to date on current events, including local stories and sports.

  • Experience with Edius (Grass Valley) editing systems considered an asset.

  • Strong computer and social-media skills.

  • Top-notch communicator and organizer; willing team member who can lead when required.

  • Decisive even under pressure; able to prioritize and meet multiple daily deadlines.

  • Willing and able to adapt to rapidly changing technology and workflows.

  • Familiarity with Global News online and on-air.

  • Knowledge of Alberta and Edmonton would be considered an asset.

  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
