About the role
The Adelaide Club, Toronto's preeminent Health and Fitness Club has a permanent full time opening for the role: HUB Supervisor.
Our HUB, is a lounge/cafe type atmosphere creating a special gathering place for our Members to come together, work and mingle.
Onsite 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday Day shifts, possibly opening at 7 am, and some evenings for events, as business demands.
Approximately 35 hours Front of House, while doing admin during downtimes + 5 hours Back of House admin/planning.
Total Compensation Range $45000.00 - $60,000.00 per year, includes base salary, bonus, gratuities and other perks
Purpose and Objective
Grow the HUB offerings and business, creating a special gathering place for Members to come together, work and mingle.
Major/Specific Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Oversee day to day operations within budgeted guidelines and to the highest standards
- Provide excellent levels of customer service and provide a fun and up-beat atmosphere
- Create events to drive business and engage members
- Identify customer’s needs and respond proactively to all of their concerns
- Order required food and beverage items, and keep up to date on all inventory
- Develop and leverage key relationships with vendors (i.e. beer, coffee, etc.) learn about new products
- Make recommendations for purchasing materials and goods necessary for the smooth operation of the HUB
- Continuously make necessary improvements to the FOH and BOH operation
- Lead hiring of any other service team members required, train them and ensure all hours are covered
- Establish targets, KPI’s, schedules, policies and procedures
- Provide two-way communication and nurture an ownership environment with emphasis on motivation and teamwork
- Comply with all health and safety regulations, reporting and correcting any issues
- Report to GM regarding sales results and productivity
- Answer all communication from outside as well as inside of the company according to best practices
- Work with internal teams to create event and social engagement opportunities
- Work with marketing to plan to help drive business with members, departments and outside clients (ie. promotions, etc.)
- Ensure the FOH and BOH is informed of all upcoming events, menu changes, schedule changes and keep them updated on restaurant related information
- Ensure all daily financials are correct
- Process payroll and inventory
- Develop and manage annual budgets, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and cost control targets
Qualifications/Requirements
- 3+ years of Barista, Serving and/or Managerial Experience required
- Working knowledge of various computer software programs (MS Office, restaurant management software, Silverware POS)
- Degree in hospitality management, BA, or related field
- Smart Serv and Food Handler Certified
