#About the Role

WIL Initiatives Coordinator is integral to supporting the growth and sustainability of Career Services, with a focus on work-integrated learning initiatives and projects.

The incumbent will support the business unit objectives by being responsible for the development, planning, implementation and on-going delivery of a comprehensive portfolio of WIL programs for students and graduates. This involves being highly collaborative and adept at building, nurturing and maintaining strong relationships with the MRU campus community, alumni, and external partners.

This role is passionate about student success and engages directly with students throughout their experiences from recruitment into the program, to coaching, advising, and supporting students throughout their WIL experiences and beyond to career-ready transition.

The coordinator will work with the Specialist, Growth and Innovation to develop engagement goals and measures of success, while maintaining reporting systems to ensure the expectations of stakeholders are achieved.

This is a full-time Limited Term position, working 35 hours per week, ending on June 30, 2026.

##Responsibilities

Development and Coordination of WIL Initiatives

  • Coordinate the development, planning, implementation and on-going delivery of a comprehensive portfolio of WIL Initiatives for students
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders on development of programs and pursuit of funding to support large scale programs and projects
  • Build relationships and continuously engage with industry and community partners
  • Build, nurture and maintain strong campus community relationships to support WIL initiatives, including the Students’ Association of Mount Royal University (SAMRU)
  • Provide expert consultation and participate in ongoing experiential learning research, recommended practices review, and national conversations related to WIL innovation.

Student Success

  • Researches and pursues funding and other supports for work-integrated learning

  • Acts as a departmental expert responsible to maximize matches between employers, funding opportunities and qualified students

  • Builds a sustainable funnel of WIL opportunities that align with NACE’s Career Readiness Competencies

  • Grows and delivers WIL initiatives aimed at increasing student skill development, employability and marketability

  • Acts as the main point of contact for coordination of WIL projects

  • Ensures a robust job board and development activities that yield well-matched opportunities for students from all participating faculties

##Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Education or equivalent with practice of experiential learning
  • Experience with career development for students within post-secondary environment
  • Project and program coordination and on-going delivery
  • Experience and strong understanding of experiential learning
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to build, nature and maintain strong relationships
  • Experience with project and program, coordination and on-going delivery.
  • Excellent communication skills; written and verbal
  • Change, innovation and continuous improvement mind-set
  • Possess analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Be respectful and inclusive
  • Ability to be organized and pay attention to detail

Salary:$64,264.20 - $81,299.40 per annum
