Who you are
- 3+ years of experience in data engineering, ideally with large-scale distributed systems
- Strong skills in PySpark, Python (or similar scripting language), and SQL performance tuning
- Experience with AWS, S3, Presto, Airflow, and related tools
- Solid understanding of ETL processes, workflow orchestration, and data warehousing
- Comfortable working cross-functionally to solve real-world problems
What the job involves
- The Growth Products team at Lyft focuses on acquiring and resurrecting riders and drivers efficiently to grow the business and balance the marketplace. We handle critical infrastructure to execute, manage, and optimize growth campaigns for the entire company and move quickly to test and develop new products
- As a Data Engineer on the Growth Products team, you will have ownership over the data modeling and pipelines that power Lyft's growth campaigns and infrastructure
- Your efforts will be critical to the reliability of our pipelines, execution of third party data integrations, accurate reporting of campaign performance, and efficiency improvements that can save millions of dollars / year. You will work cross-functionally to bridge Lyft's business goals with data engineering
- Build and maintain reliable, scalable data pipelines supporting Growth use cases
- Improve data models and schema design to meet evolving engineering and business needs
- Monitor and improve data quality, consistency, and performance
- Support internal users with self-serve ETL partner tools and real-time analytics pipelines
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product, engineering, data science, and marketing teams to understand business problems and align on prioritization and solutions
