Make your mark while you grow your career! Canadian Natural has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Labour Relations Advisor. Your ability to collaborate, coach and develop relationships will make you an amazing fit for Canadian Natural.

  • Job location: Fort McMurray, Alberta
  • Shift schedule: 8 days on, 6 days off, 10-hour shifts
  • Safety sensitive position: Yes

Key Accountabilities:

  • Provide direction and support in the areas of labour relations, labour legislation interpretation, collective agreement application, labour policies, practices and procedures
  • Liaise and coordinate Labour Relations matters with all contractors, unions, and labour relations associations
  • Take on a supportive role in labour/employee relations issue prevention and/or resolution
  • Build and maintain relationships with key external organizations, institutions, associations, and governmental agencies that affect labour/employee relations
  • Act as an LR resource both internally and externally, with a focus on developing, advising and coaching
  • Proactively plan and strategize effective project management for key activities like turnarounds
  • Provide expertise and advice on collective agreements, union negotiations, grievances and arbitration
  • Create, implement and oversee effective LR policies and procedures

What You Bring to the Role:

  • Human Resources education degree or diploma, with a specialization in Labour Relations
  • 7+ years of LR/HR related work experience
  • Working knowledge of Employment Standards and Federal Labour relations practices for Alberta
  • Experience working with the complexities of unionized work environment
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong relationships through a collaborative, tactful methodology
  • CPHR is an asset
