We are currently accepting applications for a full-time (1.0 FTE) Teacher for the Early Childhood Services Program to join our team for the 2025-2026 program year to support our team at Child Development Centre (3820 - 24 Ave NW). This is a term position for the duration of 2025 – 2026 program year.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with children with disabilities and a strong understanding of early childhood development. This role involves creating and implementing individualized program plans (IPPs), collaborating with families and multidisciplinary teams, and fostering a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment.

Key Responsibilities:

· Develop and implement individualized program plans (IPPs) for children in conjunction with the classroom team.

· Design and deliver engaging and developmentally appropriate program tailored to the needs of each child.

· Monitor and assess children’s progress, adjusting teaching strategies as needed to meet individual goals.

· Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment that promotes the social, and emotional, growth of all children.

· Collaborate with parents, child development facilitators (CDF), and therapy teams to ensure comprehensive support and optimal programming for each child.

· Utilize a variety of instructional techniques and materials to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities.

· Maintain accurate and detailed records of child’s progress, IPPs, and communication with families.

· Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in special education and early childhood education.

· Supervise CDFs, practicum students and/or volunteers providing feedback and evaluation as required.

Qualifications:

· Bachelor's Education degree.

· Valid teaching certification in Alberta.

· Experience working with children with disabilities.

· Strong understanding of child development and inclusive education best practices.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

· Ability to work collaboratively with families, colleagues, and multidisciplinary teams.

· Patience, creativity, and a passion for working with children with diverse needs.

Pre-Requisite Security Clearance Documentation:

· Successful candidates must provide us with a valid ‘Calgary Police Check with Vulnerable Sector’ dated within 3 months prior to their start date.

· ‘Intervention Record Check through Alberta Child Services’ is also required, however, we can support you with completing this during your onboarding.
