Due to our ongoing organic growth, we are currently seeking a qualified permanent full-time Integrity Engineer in Training (EIT) to join and contribute to our Pipeline Integrity Engineering team in Calgary, Alberta . The Integrity Engineer in Training (EIT) will perform various engineering analysis and consulting activities as well as develop and maintain engineering standards and procedures. A key element to the position is client focused. This individual will have superior interpersonal skills that allow them to interface with clients and regulators, discuss results, identify new opportunities, resolve issues, and think creatively.
Responsibilities:
The EIT will be responsible for the following and will be supported by an experienced team of Professional Engineers:
- Basic interpretation of codes and standards;
- Conduct pipeline defect assessments, review and evaluate in-line inspection results, process input data for assessments, and conduct engineering calculations;
- Author technical reports and other documentation;
- First level checking of engineering calculations conducted by peers;
- Liaise with other departments, on technical and other matters;
- Communicate results of assessments/reports/studies to project team in an effective manner and to external customers when required.
Requirements Qualification or Skills:
The successful candidate should have the minimum qualifications and/or skills:
- Bachelor of Science, Engineering within a related field (mechanical, chemical or metallurgical is preferred);
- Eligible to register with APEGA as an EIT (Engineer in Training);
- Strong problem solving, organizational, report writing and verbal communication skills;
- Ability to collaborate with others and work in a team environment;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel;
- Pipeline experience is considered an asset;
- Experience with Python or other coding languages is an asset;
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
