The Division

Subjects

Victoria Park High School is seeking a diverse educator to join their team at the beginning of the 2026-27 school year! The successful candidate will be responsible to teach Science 10, Science 14/24, Bio 20 and Bio 30 in person, as well as Distributed Learning Course support, instruction and assessment in Chemistry 20, Chemistry 30, Physics 20 and Physics 30. The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic, flexible, energetic team player who has;

  • An educational background in Sciences (preferred):
  • Previous experience teaching in all areas of Science (Biology, Chemistry and Physics);
  • A belief in the power of collaboration, teamwork and transferable learning strategies;
  • A deep commitment to supporting alternative learning opportunities, outreach supports, and engagement in anti-oppressive teaching practices;
  • An ethic rooted in deep care and practice of unconditional positive regard, employing a trauma-informed approach, through a culturally inclusive lens that respects and celebrates diversity.

LethSD Summer School, offered through Victoria Park High School for all high school students in Southern Alberta, involves teachers from the LASP community supporting and marking coursework for one or two weeks in July. Those marking the Distributed Learning component receive time for time during the school year. Applicants should be prepared to participate for one or two weeks in July, with specific weeks being negotiable.

Requirements

  • Applicants must possess or be eligible to obtain an Alberta Teaching Certificate.

Conditions of Employment

In order to ensure and maintain a safe and secure working and learning environment, applicants new to Lethbridge School

Division who are offered employment must provide:

  • A police information check; including Vulnerable Sector Check from Police Services or an RCMP detachment that does not have any charges or convictions.
  • A satisfactory Intervention Record Check from South Region Alberta Child and Family Services.
  • Proof of photo identification, may be a valid driver’s licence, provincial identification card as issued by a licensed government registry office, valid passport or Nexus card. If one cannot be provided, a new card must be obtained and proof of application provided within three days of hire.
  • Documentation of a valid Social Insurance Number in the employee’s legal name. If valid Social Insurance documentation in the current legal name can not be provided, the successful candidate will be required to obtain a new one within three days of hire.

Lethbridge is a growing, vibrant city with 101,482 residents.
