Description
As a member of the Purchasing Team, the Buyer/Planner is essentially responsible for determining raw material requirements to meet customer demands and internal production schedules across various assets within the facility.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Principal Accountabilities:
- Determines material requirements based on demand from production schedules.
- Ensures availability of all raw materials from intent to purchase to delivery and consumption.
- Monitors inventory levels, movement/usage of materials through operations and coordinates with purchasing to maintain adequate levels of raw materials to meet production cycle and overall production needs.
- Act as the prime liaison between the supplier and all internal departments, such as production, quality, engineering, etc., ensuring the coordination and timely delivery of all relevant information or concerns through to settlement and/or resolution.
- Manages supplier relations by monitoring and reporting reliability, cost, and delivery performance.
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise:
Qualifications (Knowledge & Experience):
- Diploma in Logistics/Supply Chain, or Business essential
- PMAC designation an asset
- Minimum three (3) years of experience in raw material planning in a manufacturing environment; global automotive manufacturing experience preferred.
- Sound knowledge and understanding of global economic conditions, markets and commodities, the changes that occur daily and ultimately the impact on the organization due to long lead times, and other unforeseen circumstances.
- Direct purchasing experience and familiarity with SAP is preferred.
Skills & Abilities:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Proficient in SAP preferred or equivalent ERP system.
- High degree of accuracy.
- Ability to multi-task and handle competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Work ethic: Possesses a strong willingness to work hard and do what it takes to get the job done.
- Communication: Speaks and writes clearly and articulately with all forms of communication (in-person, email, etc.).
- Listening Skills: Lets others speak and seeks to understand their viewpoints.

Working Conditions:
- Work is generally required to be conducted within an office environment. There will be occasions where job responsibilities will require the need to enter the manufacturing plant. Plant PPE required where appropriate.
- Standard 40-hour work week. Business activities may require flexibility to work additional hours.
- All new employees must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

It offers in-house designed and engineered printed vinyl fabrics for above-ground and in-ground swimming and commercial pool liners, thermoplastic single-ply roofing membranes for the industrial, commercial, institutional and residential markets and thermoplastic sheeting products. The Company also provides ply decking materials, geoliner primary and secondary containment materials, pond liners for aquaculture and décorative ponds, fish farms, golf links and backyard ponds.
