About the role

About the Project:

The Eglinton Crosstown West Extension will bring the Eglinton Crosstown LRT another 9.2 kilometres farther west, creating a continuous rapid transit line from the east end of Toronto into Mississauga. The Stations, Rail, and Systems (SRS) package encompasses the design, construction, integration, and commissioning of key project components.

Position Overview:

We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented BIM Coordinator to support the digital

delivery of a major infrastructure project. The successful candidate will play a key role in the

development, coordination, and implementation of BIM processes throughout the design and

construction phases.

Responsibilities:

Core Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the development of the BIM Execution Plan (BEP), guides, and protocols during the design phase.
  • Ensure all design information complies with contractual requirements, the BEP, and all relevant

BIM, CAD, GIS, and Information Management standards.

  • Coordinate and support communication with Design Consultants.
  • Oversee the correct use of information workflows within the Common Data Environment (CDE).

BIM Coordination & Information Management

  • Coordinate and monitor BIM deliverables across design partners and subcontractors.
  • Ensure compliance with client requirements, project standards, and TRP guidelines.
  • Receive, review, and aggregate BIM models to maintain the federated model updated.
  • Review 3D models from designers and subcontractors to ensure quality and consistency.
  • Perform visual and automated clash detection and support spatial coordination efforts.
  • Identify, communicate, and manage design conflicts through issue tracking and BCF workflows.

Model Development & Support

  • Develop and maintain BIM object libraries and design script libraries.
  • Support the creation and updating of BIM models during construction, including sections, viewpoints, and other representations for team understanding.
  • Perform quantity take-offs to support scheduling and trade coordination.
  • Review and integrate laser scan data into federated models where required.
  • Incorporate field data and assist in producing As-Built models according to project standards.
  • Ensure data integrity, consistency, and alignment between BIM models, databases, and reporting tools.

Technical & Team Support

  • Deliver BIM navigation and workflow training for project team members.
  • Produce and export CAD drawings in line with project BIM/CAD standards (e.g., IFC drawings, fit-out support).
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development within the project team.

  • Support and adhere to all Health & Safety policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience as a BIM Coordinator (or similar role) on large-scale construction projects, ideally within the transportation, rail, or infrastructure sector.
  • Strong proficiency in BIM and design software, including Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, ACC,
  • Civil 3D, Synchro or related tools.
  • Solid understanding of BIM principles, workflows, and international standards (e.g., ISO 19650, project information management, model coordination).
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to work confidently with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities and coordinating with diverse stakeholders under tight deadlines.
  • Experience using Power BI for dashboards, data visualization, and project reporting is an asset.
  • Knowledge of scripting or programming languages (e.g., Python, C#, VBA, or SQL) is considered a strong plus and will support workflow automation and digital delivery initiatives.
