This vacancy is a full-time, permanent opportunity. The Senior Business Continuity Manager is a member of the Crisis Management Team (CMT) & Business Continuity Team for The Beer Store (TBS) and Brewers Distributor Ltd. (BDL). The Senior Business Continuity Manager is accountable for managing the Enterprise Business Continuity Program which includes the development of a sustaining process to continually monitor and enhance integrated continuity programs and plans, including crisis response and operational resiliency.Location Our Corporate Office is located in Bolton, ON. This is a field-based role with visits to the office on an as-needed basis. Up to 20% of business travel is required to support organizational needs, therefore a valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle is required.What You'll Be Doing
Collaborate with Senior Leadership to ensure integration and effectiveness of Disaster Recovery (DR), Crisis Management, and Business Continuity plans Lead enterprise crisis management, emergency response, and business continuity exercises (e.g., simulations, dry runs), incorporating lessons learned into program improvements Facilitate development, testing, and continuous improvement of resiliency plans, identifying gaps and implementing action plans Support the design and maintenance of the enterprise-wide Business Continuity Management (BCM) program, aligned with enterprise risk management and strategic priorities Partner with business units to conduct Business Impact Analyses (BIA), identify critical processes, and develop recovery strategies and resiliency plans Monitor emerging risks (e.g., cyber, supply chain, climate) and adapt continuity strategies to strengthen organizational resilience Provide reporting, metrics, and insights on organizational readiness to key stakeholders and senior leadership Guide business leaders in aligning with BCM standards, regulatory requirements, and enterprise frameworks while balancing partnership and effective challenge Maintain policies, procedures, and training programs to support awareness, preparedness, and compliance Support financial targets by managing program activities within budget and making decisions that balance cost, risk, and operational impact Contribute to risk assessments, contingency planning, and analysis of recovery strategies to enhance business resilience and reduce exposure Provide mentorship, training, and cross-functional support to drive engagement, productivity, and alignment with organizational priorities Perform other related duties and projects as assigned Who You Are - Your Knowledge, Skills & Experience Education Post-Secondary Degree or Diploma in Business, Accounting, Finance or a related field Post-graduate certificate in Business Continuity Planning, Emergency Management or Risk Management preferred Industry recognized certification/designation through BCI and/or DRI such as Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP) or Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) preferred Experience 8 years of experience in business continuity with exposure to crisis management Proven experience in operational risk and/or operational resilience, with additional background in emergency operations Previous work experience supporting a retail organization or financial institution an asset Experience in developing crisis management programs and responding to incidents and crises when they occur and proactive mock trials as a quarterly snapshot on prep/measurement Familiarity and experience working within an Incident Command System (ICS) framework Exposure to a wide range of business activities and incident and crisis response, including but not limited to, IT Disaster Recovery, SAP, Cyber (DDOS, Ransomware etc.), Physical Location Loss, Pandemic, and loss of Third-party, industry related events Expert in planning and developing response and recovery plans for a wide range of scenarios Practice in performing Post Incident Reviews (PIRs), delivering results to ensure risks and gaps are addressed post incident/crisis Familiarity with OSFI and Industry Guidelines an asset Skills Understanding of Crisis Communications and the use of mass notification solutions Excellent customer, decision making, problem solving, analytical and collaboration skills with the ability to focus on finer detail Strong organizational and priority management skills with a result driven focus Strong MS Office skills (specifically Word, Visio, Excel and PowerPoint), ability to process map in Visio and or Word, and design macros in excel Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong interpersonal skills, with a high energy level and a positive attitude Excellent communicator with the ability to build teams, bridge relationships and coordinate activity with Management, Executives and Board Leader and influencer with a proven track record of leading organizational change and coordinating response and recovery activity across a broad spectrum of business units and levels of expertise Ability to be on call and the ability to travel for business needs (as required) Compensation Salary range? Yup, we’ve got one: $107,000–$133,700 CAD per year. But here’s the real deal - if you’re the perfect brew of experience, skills, and personality, we’re open to exploring beyond the range.
